We did not feel like a team building either.
Too many team buildings feel like someone tried to organise fun in Excel.
So we made the one we wanted to play ourselves.
No challenges where someone has to dress up. No forced conversations about each other's qualities. No guide with a little flag.
But a game good enough to pull everyone in by itself.
Why Joint Mission exists
Joint Mission started in Ghent, from a simple observation: the best team days are not the ones with the longest presentation, but the ones where people have to solve something together. A riddle you only crack if everyone thinks along. A route where you have to decide who takes which part. A time limit that puts just enough pressure on to really work together, and just enough to get fanatical.
That is why we build our missions ourselves, on our own game platform: challenges with a story, spread across the city, played on the smartphone everyone already carries. The first mission is playing now in Ghent. Bruges and Kortrijk are incoming, end of 2026.
How we build a mission
Every challenge has to do something a quiz cannot: make you look around on the street, confer and decide under time pressure. We write for adult participants. No summer camp vibe, no entertainer, no challenge where someone has to feel ashamed. But a scoreboard, because competition is the shortest route to collaboration.
Take the game seriously. Ourselves a little less.
The game has to be right: the challenges, the timing, the technology and the organisation around it. We are strict about that. Beyond that, things may happily get a little out of hand.

Who is behind it
Joint Mission is a trade name of Ninjai (VAT BE 1034.682.172), based in Ghent. Behind the missions is a small team that is out on the street itself during your game. We work from the Wintercircus Collective in the heart of the city.
